It's not his birthday

So we bought a ice cream cake the other day for no other reason other than they are DELICIOUS! Well, like any 2 year old toddler when they hears the word cake, he thinks it's for him and he wants to put candles on them. We play along of course going the whole 9 yards, putting on the candles, singing him Happy Birthday and letting him blow out the candles. The smile on his face was priceless.

Jake loves the swing!

Jake go potty

I don't normally blog about potty activity but last week, Jake went #2 on the potty and this morning he 'pee pee' before getting dressed for school.

He's not consistent about telling us when he needs to go and we're not cancelling our diaper subscription yet but it is a HUGE milestone for him :)

PS - cleaning this thing is gross, can't wait until he uses the real toilet.

Easter egg hunt 2011

Our neighborhood had their annual Easter egg hunt. After leaving last year with 1 egg, we decided that wasn't going to work this year so, I bought a dozen empty plastic eggs before hand and practiced with him at home. He was outstanding! His new favorite word of the week became "EGG".

So...he is ready. The teacher can only show him so much. The boy must show he can do it in the real world - by himself.

On to Saturday, it was a cool morning. We had a good breakfast to start off on the right foot. We arrive 10 minutes early to get a good spot up front. He's in the 0-3 age group so there are bigger, faster kids but I keep reminding him in his ear like a boxing coach "Do what we learned at home...EGGS!"

The lady rings the bell to begin! He was caught off guard! He froze for maybe 5 seconds but it felt like an eternity. The other kids are way ahead of him. Judy's mother instinct kicks in and help him out on the first egg. YES!!!! After the 3rd egg, he was on a roll. The hard practice/ training session have paid off. We left with a basket full of candy and a few pictures to share. The teacher (Dad) was so proud :)

*No Easter bunny picture this year, he completely refused (scared) to be near him.

Off to a slow start

Jake's spring school pictures 2011

We can put an extra $60 into Jake's bank account. He made our decision to purchase these or not very easy with him not smiling. Picture day turned out to be his second day in his new classroom so he was still adjusting hence the concerned looks. We might sign up for the picture makeup day or not - he might be in a better mood then.

I love Mommy

Giving Mommy a hug.

Spring is in the air

With warmer weather, we spend more time outdoor. Jake loves helping Daddy water the plants and I got tired of blowing bubbles for him so I got him a little bubble gun maker - it works pretty well for $3.99.

Jake's first circus

We went to a small (one ring) circus in Frisco. For the price, it was pretty good. We saw dancing camals, tigers jumping around, several acts/performers. We left during intermission so we didn't catch the elephants. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed the pony ride the most. He wasn't sure what to make of the clowns. I mean, they are fun and cute from far away but when you get close to one...kinda scary.

Drop-off are back to normal

It only took 9 days but he has finally stopped crying when I drop him off for school.

Yeah!
