First soccer season is in the books.

What a long season that was! It was cute at times, fun sometimes and damn right hard to watch at times.

But he did make some progress and wanted to play with his friends so that's good. He runs around pretty well but he can't keep it up 4 quarters and 8 minutes each. We don't have enough players to do a good rotation. Maybe next season we can have more kids on the team to help with that.

We are skipping spring season and waiting for the summer league to start maybe around June.

April misc pictures.

Dallas Zoo

Pictures from our last visit. We met up with the Grimmets - I noticed they check'ed in on Facebook so I texted them. What would we do without Facebook :)

Season passes

We're suckers for season passes. Okay, it's probably me being a cheap ass. We got a family season pass for $99. I figure if we spend $40 on tickets and $7 for parking for one visit and a pass lets us go unlimited times plus it included free parking...we'll make out money back!

Of course, without kids, we wouldn't have bought anything. Maybe this is why kids are expensive. Keeping them entertained and learning isn't cheap. Yeah, we could have done without but we try to make it a learning event so it feels worth it.

We have season passes to:
- Dallas Zoo
- Legoland Discovery in Grapevine mall
- Sealife in Grapevine mall

What a difference 6 months makes.

Jake had his 2nd dentist appt and we were fearing the worst since the last check up didn't go so well. He's 3 now so I guess he's a big boy now. He didn't cry at all and was a model patient! The best news was he had no cavities although he had a couple of trouble issues that needed better brushing.

Yeah, it's a picnic!

We finally got a outside dining table for the patio and we have dinner out there every so often to enjoy the weather before it gets too hot. I ask Jake if he wants to eat outside and he always says "yeah, it's a picnic"!

Easter weekend

We went down to Houston to spend Easter with the family. Saturday was my side and Sunday was Judy's side. Left Saturday morning 7am and returned Sunday evening 8pm - Short and very tiring. It doesn't help that gas is also close to $4.00 a gallon. But we make the best of it with swimming, crawfish and Easter egg hunt at anh Nghi's house. We left Max with Grandma and Jake with the Chestnuts for the night while we went to an adult dinner with Hong and Thai. On Sunday, we went over Judy's side and had buttered seafood grill and rice paper wrap. It doesn't sound good in English but in Vietnamese it rolls off the tongue.

Chris was nice to take pictures of Jake and the girls on Easter morning.

I love his face on the 3rd one. You can't buy happiness like that.

Walk around the neighborhood

We try to take advantage of the nice weather lately and take a walk around the neighborhood. Jake like to run while I'm trying to keep up. Max is happy in his little car. He holds the wheel with 2 hands at 10 and 2 o'clock.

Cotton candy!

Who doesn't like cotton candy!?

Playing well together (kinda)

Jake loves his trains and Max love playing too. There lies the problem.

Jake: Max! Don't touch the trains. Let it go around!
Max: drooling and acting like King Kong, grabbing the trains
Jake: Max! Stop! Mommy/Daddy, put Max in timeout!

This happens daily.
