Summer Soccer season comes to a close

Last weekend was our last game of summer soccer. They are getting better but they are still terrible. When I say terrible I mean they suck so bad we have to keep 2 goalies and we still can't stop them from scoring. Nevertheless, I think the boys are having fun and hopefully learning to play on a team. On to the Fall season...and Judy wants me to give up coaching duties. I try to remind her that I was coach by default and hopefully there will be takers or I will have to do it again.

Stomach bug + vomit = ER visit + $150

So I get the dreaded call from daycare at 3 that Jake has thrown up and you need to pick him up although his temp is only 99.6. So I pick him up and visit the pediatrician. No temp still 98.6 but he can't keep down 5ml of Gatorade. Dr send us down to the ER or Judy tells me today that it's called ED now. Anyways, he gets medicine and tried water again. Vomit. Gets an IV (he did not like that at all) and get some fluid in him. Tries more water...vomit. Gets another dose of meds through the IV. Tries water..vomit. Lab works look great and he acts fine. doctor says probably a stomach bug. Earlier doctors said we might stay the night for observation if he can't keep anything down. . Hopefully we get to go home soon since he was abke to pee. It's 11:30 and we check in at 5. Luckily, Judy prob up the iPad and the charger and let me get some food. I can't imagine taking care if 2 kids alone especially when one is sick.

Waiting for his pee lab results. Fingers crossed. Sleeping At home in your bed is under rated.

Jake vs the chocolate fountain with marshmallows

Despite getting it all over his face, he thoroughly enjoyed 3 chocolate covered marshmallows at a recent visit to a Asian buffet.

Coach Tran

We're in the middle of our second soccer season. Last years coach didn't have time this season so I'm the coach this year. Its pretty stressful - maybe because we're not very good and we have 11 players (only 5 play at one time). I don't do much but encourage them and tell them to kick it into their goal not ours. No practice or anything although we need it. We're just too young to be serious about practice. But I do look forward to Saturday and watching them run around.

Swimming classes

Jake just finished a 2 week swimming class and he did really well. He can jump into the pool and swim back to the ledge and pull himself out. Of course, he still needs supervision but he's no longer afraid of the water and he can hold his breath for about 7 secs underwater.

July misc pictures

Jake loves puzzles. Max loves Hugging Jake and when he gets kisses from his older brother (it rarely happens).
