Jake went to the doctor today for his 2 month check-up and everything looks good.

He's eating about 4oz of breastmilk every 3-4hrs, sometimes leaving an ounce and sometimes emptying the bottle completely. Dr. Leon told us that it's not always exact, so sometimes he may need more, so just follow his cues. He'll regulate himself, so we'll try to meet his needs better.

At his check-up, Jake got one oral (rotavirus) and 5 shots (Hep B-2nd shot, Polio, Hib, DTaP, Pneumo) of vaccinations. Since a couple of them may induce a slight fever, he's also taking 0.4mL of infant Tylenol three times today. That's a lot of shots, but he did really well and calmed down pretty quickly... thank goodness we have a little angel. :-)

As you can see, the busy morning exhausted him.

Jake's 1st trip to Houston - Easter weekend

Jake had a busy weekend. Jake met all his aunts, all his uncles on dad's side but none on mom's, both sets of grandparents, and a few of our closest friends on this inaugral trip home. It was great.... we barely had a chance to hold him all weekend. :-)

Next trip to Houston: May 9th and 10th for Mother's Day and his baptism

Dallas Arboretum

I took a day off from work and we went to the Dallas Arboretum on a beautiful day. There were not too many flowers around since we went late in the season.

We realize that it's 'against the rules' to co-sleep, but we're so tired by the second night feeding that sometimes it's just easier to have Jake sleep w/ us. He likes having us close by and seems perfectly content, so why fight it?
